Zandvliet Estate Chardonnay 2019

Delicious and versatile South African Chardonnay best served with either a humble butternut squash soup or something unctuous and rich like a crackling pork belly. The 2019 has been through it all, malolactic fermentation for those buttery notes, a bit of cold soaking on its skins as well as bâtonnage and ageing for 6 months, on its lees, in older French oak barrels. The result is a wine rich, but fresh with obvious notes of citrus, tropical fruits and a backbone of vanilla and honey. Drink now.

Fermented in French oak barrels and matured in these barrels on lees for 6 months.
