Villa Cardini Sangiovese 2018

Sangiovese is one of the most widely planted grapes in Italy. A grape that thrives across Italy’s varied terroirs but does best in Tuscany. Villa Cardini sourced their grapes for the 2018 release from Rubicone, a small IGP located in Emilia-Romagna in northern Italy. The IGP is mostly known for its varietal wines, and this is a great example of that. Heavy on the red cherries, there is also a savoury character which is obvious. A wine that is drinking well now and will continue to do so for the next few years.

Sun-ripened grapes are harvested when perfectly mature. After maceration the wine is matured in stainless steel vats to preserve its fruitiness.
