"Mendoza is the world HQ for the black grape of Cahors, also known as Cot in south west France where Malbec originally comes from. This wine is bold crimson in colour with a youthful brightness and, likewise, lovely fresh flavours of dark berries, which put Malbec’s fruitiest foot forward and allow this grape’s naturally spicy tones to shine. Big bold and smooth." - 4 Stars, Joelle Thomson, Wine Writer
"Wine aged in cement – intrigued yet? Well we were! So we brought in a few cases direct from the Uco Valley, Argentina and have been pleasantly surprised with the result. Deep and intense aromas of cherries and plums, with great fruit concentration due to the high altitudes the grapes are grown at. Rather than the usual oak ageing, this wine spent approximately 18 months in cement which helped the winemakers at Trapiche to create a fresher, fruit forward style of wine without any oaky or oxidative (hopefully!) flavours. It’ll be great to quaff tonight, or in a few years – give it a few minutes in a big deep glass to breathe and you won’t be disappointed." - Wine Central Tasting Panel
