New Zealand Pinot Gris has come of age and the quiet Alsatian grape is certainly making itself heard in Marlborough. This is a wine with depth of flavour, texture and interest. Rose petal, pear and spice aromas are followed by lavish honeysuckle, red apple and ginger flavours. The palate is rich and textural, with the perfect balance of fine acidity and a touch of residual sweetness.
The grapes come from Marlborough’s Awatere Valley, the coolest and driest of all the subregions, which gives unrivalled aroma and flavour intensity. Picked at optimal ripeness, fermented, and then left on yeast lees for several months, the result is an opulent, lush style of Pinot Gris, reminiscent of Alsatian Pinot Gris form Northern France.
"This is instantly appealing on the nose with ripe nectarine, poached pear, orange peel and floral aromas with subtle spice nuances. The palate is succulent and rounded, and delivers lovely fruit purity and silky texture, finishing long and smooth. Beautifully composed and expressed, and very tasty. At its best: now to 2019."

A light Verdejo with reduced alcohol content at just 9%. A great alternative to Sauvignon Blanc. Unlike most whites, Verdejo continues to improve over several years of bottle-aging, where it gains a rich texture and flavours of toasted almonds, supported by sparkly acidity. Pale yellow in colour with green notes, clean and bright. The nose has subtle hints of apple, pear and tropical fruits accentuated by vegetable and white balsamic aromas. On the palate the wine is citrus fresh and dry. Verdejo originated in North Africa and was taken to the Rueda in about the 11th Century. It produces light, crisp, delicate dry wines that are ideal with seafood and has now spread to other regions such as ‘Valdepenas’ which literally means "Valley of Rocks" because it is located in a wide area where the Jabalón River meanders through hills bordering on the...
