Champagne Pommery Brut Royal NV

"Lively, fresh, finesse." - Champagne Pommery

A Christmas Champagne deal for the record books!

From one of the great Champagne houses comes a bubbly with a delicate, focussed and fresh style. A truly special fizz to toast to the silly season.

"From tragedy comes triumph. Like many of the famed houses in Champagne (think Veuve Clicquot and Bollinger) Pommery was founded by a widow in the mid 1800s who was grieving the loss of her husband. Pommery began as a wool trader but soon moved into the business of winemaking after its matriarch saw the potential in the market. The house is known for being the creator of the brut style of champagne, a move they made to get a bigger slice of the English market who preferred a drier style of wine compared to the historically sweeter bubbles from the region. That deliciously dry style is still the hallmark of the house today, and winemaker Paul-François Vranken creates his NV with a fine mousse (the bubbles!) and a palate filled with brioche’d notes, honey, dried fruit and zingy citrus. An amazing champagne at a stellar price, if your celebrating anything this year this is the wine for you." - 19/20, Wine Central Tasting Panel

Champagne Pommery is crafted from grapes from 40 selected villages in the Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims and other areas in the Champagne region. Each area has been chosen as this is where the liveliness and delicacy of the Chardonnay grape is enhanced by the climate.

90/100, Wine Spectator "This fresh, elegant Champagne is harmonious, with a refined mousse and subtle flavors of persimmon, biscuit, golden raisin and chalky mineral."

Wine Enthusiast "This classic Champagne with its poise between ripeness and crisp acidity is showing well. It has a tight texture with acidity along with perfumed apple and citrus flavors. Fruity while crisp, the wine is ready to drink."
