Poderi Crisci Merlot Riserva is produced using 100% Merlot fruit, grown in a very special parcel of the vineyard which we refer to as “The House Block”. The vines are very low vigour, producing only a small crop of intensely concentrated fruit. 

Hugely concentrated on the nose, pure merlot fruit, rich plum, dark cherry, and mulberry with an intriguingly light dry leaf and olive character, reminiscent of a good Pomeral vintage.

A full, rich palate follows with dark plums and cherries. Very focused and beautifully structured, this wine will only grow and become quite velvety with a few years aging. Cedary tannins give a long finish. Needs time to best enjoy. A definite one for the cellar.
