Instantly appealing and lots to love from the get go. The nose shows nectarine, feijoa and green rock melon characters with hints of lime zest and dill. In the mouth the wine has very good weight and texture with fine acidity. The finish is juicy with good weight, and has an incredibly long finish.
Having come from the fantastic 2019 vintage where the summer was warm and the ripening conditions idyllic, this Marlborough Sav will charm even those who turn their nose up at the varietal.
Grapes picked from Marlborough vineyards were pressed and then fermented with yeasts made specifically for Sauv before being bottled before release. The 2019 is crystal clear with a hint of pale yellow and is citrusy and well-integrated on the nose. The palate is a mixture of lemon and grapefruit rind with cut grass and subtle tropical fruit. It is balanced and with a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ which makes it stand out from other Marlborough Sauvs. Drink now and into the next few years.
