Laurent Dublanc Cotes du Rhone 2019

"My favourite reds often come from the sunny Southern Rhone Valley in France, bordering the Languedoc and equally as sensational when it comes to having a dry, warm to hot Mediterranean climate. The climate there is ideal for maximising the deliciousness of late ripening grapes such as Grenache and Syrah, which typically form the heart and soul of reds labelled Cotes-du-Rhone, such as this smooth, dark and deliciously spicy red. Top buying in taste and in value. This wine offers loads of both." - 4.5 Stars, Joelle Thomson, Wine Writer

A blend of Syrah and Grenache and Mourvedre, this is an easy drinking, food loving wine that is perfect for everyday drinking on its own or with food. The colour is intense ruby red, clear and brilliant. With dark red fruit, strawberries, current and on the nose, it's rounded out in the middle with subtle vanilla and spice. So well balanced you can call it easy drinking and serious, this wine will flow right along with the conversation, wherever that turns.

Its grown in the Southern Cotes du Rhone between Montelimar and Avignon where the soils are a combination of chalky clay and pebbles.

The grapes are harvested at perfect ripeness, de-stemmed, crushed and fermented for 6-12 days at a controlled temperature around 30 degrees C.

Perfect with grilled meats and most mediterranean dishes.
