Francesca Bay Pinot Gris 2020

The Waipara Valley, just outside of Christchurch, is home many acres of vineyards, planted mostly with aromatic varietals such as Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. The aromats do well here due to the long growing season (allowing full ripeness of the grapes) as well as the protected nature of the terroir. The 2020 Pinot Gris from Francesca Bay is well balanced, with easy acidity and a burst of Nashi pear on the palate. There’s also a hint of lime and ripe red apple, giving a wine that lends itself well to spicy foods such a Pho or Thai green curry. Drink now.
