Fancrest Estate Waipara Valley Pinot Noir 2014

"This certified organic Pinot Noir is made with hand harvested grapes grown in the Waipara Valley, in the heart of the spectacularly arid North Canterbury wine region. The grapes were given wild yeast fermentation in open top fermenters with regular and gentle hand plunging followed by maturation in French oak for 18 months. This wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered so it may appear cloudy and it is vegan friendly. " - 4 Stars, Joelle Thomson, Wine Writer

"Fully organic Fancrest. Pinot Noir grapes were hand-picked from Fancrest Estates own vineyards before being brought to the winery to undergo a long and slow fermentation. Once complete the juice was given time to rest in high quality, old French oak barrels for around 18 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered and rested again for another year. The result of all this hard work in the winery is a restrained and refined wine, with all those savoury, earthy notes you would expect from well made, well-aged Pinot. Open about an hour before drinking and let it open, serve in a big glass with duck or mature cheese and let us know when you’re ready for more..." - Wine Central Tasting Panel

Superbly Savoury perfect for food! This one’s ready and waiting, snap up a case before it’s all gone! Fully organic.

Hand harvested and 100% destemmed without crushing into open top fermenters, wild ferment helped along only by gentle hand plunging. This was followed by a long slow post fermentation maceration. Maturation took place in a selection of quality tight grained French oak barriques (mainly Allier and Tronçaise), none new, for 18 months.
