Chateau Rider-Chenu-Lafitte, located in the historic town of Blaye, Bordeaux is a family owned estate covering 28ha of vineyards bordering the Dordogne River. The vines are mostly planted on a mixture of clay and limestone – perfect for their Merlot dominant wines, in particular this 2014. Rounded and easy drinking, its blackberry that is most obvious on the palate, as well as a spicy undertone which helps to carry it through. Serve with lamb, steak or your favourite hard cheeses – don’t forget to decant for a bit beforehand!
