100% Merlot from Bordeaux, a great introduction (and at a bargain of a price) to the regions famed right bank wines. As a ‘Grand Vin Bordeaux’ the team at Chateau Prieure Marquet can choose to bring grapes from across the region to create their wines, and they do just that. However, the style in which they make them is very much ‘right bank.’ Those typical heady notes of Merlot, like rich plum, vanilla and violet burst out of the bottle and make it a perfect pair to any red meat straight off the grill. The four years of age has allowed for great integration, and we think this one will be flying out of the door, so get in quick!

In 2014, Bernard Canonne, a businessman from Franche Comté who had previously owned vines in Saint Emilion, fell in love with Prieuré Marquet. He quickly acquired the property and its magnificent manor house. Situated in the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation, the Prieuré Marquet’s vines are spread over the commune of Saint Martin du Bois.
"Our philosophy is to understand and live with nature"
The vines, which are between 15 and 20 years old, are planted on a south-facing hillside in deep clay that enables the soil to provide an optimal amount of water, which is regulated naturally depending on the vines’ requirements. Merlot reigns supreme here and is managed according to sustainable agriculture principles.
