Chateau Bernachon is in the Entre-deux-Mers region of Bordeaux. Literally translated as ‘between two seas’ the vineyards are planted between the two major rivers that stretch the length of the region, the Garonne and Dordogne. Being so close to the rivers mean that the grapes are planted on soils formed mostly of sand and clay, perfect for Merlot. Their vineyards span over 12ha and at almost 100m above sea level are some of the highest in the area. The winemakers here believe in combining traditional practices with modern techniques to produce their wines.
