Château Artos Lacas AOP Corbiere 2018

An intense ruby red with a delicate, fresh nose of undergrowth, blackberry and sweet spices. Supple tannins, a harmonious balance and long finish make this an excellent value red!

"Corbieres is one of the biggest wine regions in Languedoc, which stretches around the southern French coast – it has about double the number of grapevines planted as Hawke’s Bay does, by way of comparison. It’s also devoted mostly to reds made from at least 50% Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache and Lladoner Pelut (a grape that’s pretty unknown). Carignan can also make up some of the blend. The wines are dry, deeply coloured, full bodied and savoury – top flavours with pizza." - Joelle Thomson, Wine Writer (2017 vintage)

"The Languedoc-Roussillon is a large and diverse region in the south of France which is home to many different grapes allowing for a huge variety of wine and wine styles to be made here. Corbières is one of the most well-known appellations in the region and is mostly home to the production of reds and rosés. Chateau Artos Lacas produces this big blend of 4 grapes, Carignan, Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre which is intense but soft and bursting with wild red fruits. Drink this year and into the next!" - 18/20, Wine Central Tasting Panel (2017 vintage)

The Artos Lacas vineyard is located on the south face of the Alaric mountain in Corbieres, Languedoc.
