The wine is a cherry red colour, suggestive of a vibrant Tempranillo wine. On the nose, its rich aromas have a pronounced intensity with an initial scent of ripe red fruit followed by gentle sweet notes of vanilla and spices. On the palate it is perfumed, soft and fresh with a long finish that leaves memories of red fruit, vanilla and cocoa. Winemaker Elena Adell, carefully cultivates the unique character of Tempranillo by combining the characteristics of three different climates – light flavours from Rioja Alta, full-bodied flavours from the tougher conditions of Rioja Alavesa and deeper flavours from the warmer and drier region of Rioja Baja.
Coming from the Rioja region, Tempranillo is the primary red grape in Spain, and has found the Catalunya area a wonderful region for wine production. Catalunya is bordered to the North by France and to the south by Taragana. This wine comes from vineyards on the high slopes of inland Catalunya. The hot Mediterranean climate is tempered by the altitude, and causes the grapes to ripen slower and develop more intense flavours.
This wine is ideal with red meat, hearty casseroles and matured cheeses.
