Campos de Luz Garnacha 2019

Garnacha is the same grape as Grenache but is grown in Spain. This sun-loving variety does well in the vineyards just outside of Barcelona.

The 2019 from Campos de Luz, is 100% local Garnacha and delicious. Think notes of ripe black cherry, aniseed, and tart raspberry along with black pepper and clove.

It’s got a deep, inviting red colour with aromas of fresh dark cherries, plum, and a hint of black pepper. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and lush with notes of raspberry, spice, and earth. The tannins are supple and easy going, and the finish is nice and long. It’s more serious than other Spanish Garnachas out there at this price point, that’s for sure. Complex but easy to drink, enjoy now!

From the north-east of Spain, along the valley of the River Ebro, where there's a northern Mediterranean climate, similar in many ways to the Rhone valley in France, and planted largely with Garnacha.

91 Points, Angus Hughson of Wine Pilot "Located not far from Rioja is the little wine region of Cariñena, which is home to generous and rustic Spanish reds. This wine starts vibrant and fruit forward wth layers of sweet raspberry, dark cherry and spicy aromas. But then it takes a rustic turn on the palate with its savoury and bone dry style and flavours of aged meat, earth and old barrels. There are also chewy tannins in the mix that support a long and fleshy finish. It’s made with the table in mind and would be a tasty match with charcoal-grilled Pinchitos."
