Calabria Richland Durif 2019

"Durif, also known as Petit Sirah, is a lesser-known grape which has origins in the Rhone Valley. Usually produced as part of a blend it has been made into a single varietal here. Dark blueberry notes give way to lush purple plum, mocha, and a hint of anise. The acid is soft and the tannins ripe but restrained. Its best served young, with a mushroom tart or side of beef. An interesting bottle that deserves a place in your cellar. Drink now and into 2023." - 17/20, Wine Central Tasting Panel

An abundance of black plums, dark berries, chocolate and vanillin are wrapped up in soft oak tannins. This is a powerful yet subtle Durif that punches well above its price point and is a must-try for rich red wine lovers!

The rich flavours of this Durif commands a rich meat. Try with Roasted pork belly or BBQ beef ribs with black pepper and spice.

Riverina, South Eastern Australia
